Swung with the same gusto and fury as an empty ale stein is slammed down upon a bar after a successful bout of drinking, a stein slammer is a mighty weapon wielded by those in service to the gods and goddesses of alcohol. With one in hand, a warrior or priest can safely embark on holy pilgrimages from bar to bar without fear or worry of being overtaken by sober deviants or violent drunks who disgrace themselves by failing to handle their liquor.
Weapon, rare (requires attunement)
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While you are drunk, the bonus increases to a +2 and the weapon gains the following additional properties.
Drunken Spirit, Sober Swings. You do not suffer the effects of the Poisoned condition while intoxicated from alcoholic beverages. However, you still experience the same side effects of being heavily intoxicated including (but not limited to) bolstered confidence and lowered inhibitions.
Another Round, Please. When you hit a creature with a melee attack using this weapon, you can use your reaction to immediately make a second melee attack with this weapon against the same creature. You don’t add your ability modifier to the damage of this attack, unless that modifier is negative.
Tavern Crawler. While holding this weapon, you know the exact direction and distance to the nearest establishment where alcohol can be purchased.
I designed this weapon for an NPC cleric in service to the goddess of alcohol in my campaign world, but I would much rather it end up in the hands of one of your players. Be sure to share all of their/your drunken conquests in the comments below, as well as any ideas or questions you might have for this item!
